The conference, held on 28 July 2025, offered a journey through the history and evolution of modern art in Portofino, from the Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna to the MuPa, one of the most important open-air sculpture museums in Europe.
Set in a unique natural landscape, the MuPa houses works by some of the leading figures of twentieth-century Italian art, including Arnaldo Pomodoro, Giò Pomodoro, Lucio Fontana, Pietro Consagra, Mirko Basaldella, Salvatore Fiume, Fortunato Depero, Gino Severini, Ettore Spalletti, Marco Lodola, Gianni Dova, Aldo Mondino and Bruno Munari.
The talk was also an opportunity to reflect on the role of contemporary sculpture in public space, on the enhancement of open-air artistic heritage and on the deep bond between art and the Ligurian landscape.
