The volume, published by Metilene Edizioni, accompanies the exhibition and takes its title from the work Origine (2025) by Madalena Negrone, donated to the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, one of the leading Italian institutions devoted to the conservation and promotion of modern and contemporary art.

The donation of Origine holds particular significance in the artist’s career, given the selective nature of the acquisitions intended for the museum’s permanent collection. Around this work, the exhibition brings together six further pieces, forming a group that ideally traces some ten years of research developed by Negrone between Genoa and New York.

Alongside Origine, the exhibition presents Entangled 5172 (Blue), Entangled 44F (Red and Black) and the four works of the Egg series (Blue, Green, Red and Yellow), created in 2026. Together, the works retrace some of the main lines of the artist’s research, highlighting its continuity and evolution over the last decade.
